Sordömvrder and the album Tinnituscore are an artistic approach to my tinnitus.
After a couple of botched-up operations that were supposed to cure a genetic deterioration, I completely lost my hearing on my right ear and the ghost noises began, like phantom limbs of sound that were not there and too harsh to cope with. This ghost incapacitated me at first, then became a not-so-silent companion. More than ten years after, it is my best friend now, and the inspiration to Sordömvrder. This is a creative way to share the experience of not being able to hear silence again, the experience of being doomed to only hear this some day.
My impairment, my art.
BUT
Tinnitus is a condition you can live with. You may find it unbearable but there will be a day when you will forget to pay attention to it because you switched it towards something else in your life. Try to be as healthy as you can, as stressless as you can and always get enough sleep. There is no cure for tinnitus, no matter what crooks and peddlers say. So take it easy. The same sawbones who caused my deafness is selling miracle remedies to tinnitus now. So we have come full circle.
